Well it is teaming down here now and no letting up. An amazing turn around. I will be quiet now about how bad this system is because it is now graduating to a reasonable stand. 10-20mm looks OK now for the hills and EC was right for one side of town re: rainfall.

SW winds developing in Geelong with the main band back along the Otway coast. One to watch there for further rainfall.

7.6mm here.

Well just got home to 6.5mm in the gauge. Looks like it has set in for a while. Should see 10mm by the end of it which is a good drop.

This is a good system with MANY great falls in SA and W,SW Vic some had the best falls in over a month in some cases many months so its MUCH better than last system.
NW Vic 4-8mm (another 10mm would have been nice up there)
Sw Vic 8-20mm some solid falls down there great to see
North Central 3-10mm some handy stuff there to more would be welcome
Melb should have 3-10mm which is far better than last system, and these days are ok falls.
Nw W Melb will miss out of course Sad
GREAT to see the inland getting some and hoping Monday is bit more moist which at this stage looks likely. Hoping many can get 10mm but again take the 50mm forecast from models with grain of salt don't get to excited till you see it start forming.

To many people are getting so caught up in the models just take them with a grain of salt people, both times forecasting 20mm both times there no chance in hell.

Still rain is filling in nicely all though Melb atm and have had steady to almost heavy rain last 20 mins and another hour or so of it to come that 7mm looking good here and sure hills will hit 10mm.

4mm atm with drizzle falling

Rain is still thick and steady here. Just on 9.4mm and rising nicely. Seems to be a uniform rise in rainfall readings across the eastern suburbs.

But out west, Laverton has had 5mm in the last half hour so there is plenty more to come. Rainfall of old!!

Another band of rain forming on the surface front behind the upper trough currently crossing Melbourne.

Should be another 2-5mm for you down there FS.

Should of gone with my gut which rarely lets me down which was 6mm here today its even in my forecast but the sky puzzled me as did the radar earlier. Definely not a droughtbreaker but nice to see some rain nevertheless. Been drenching rain here for about 20-30 mins. May not be exactly right but EC shouldn't be to far off the mark though it got the time of the windchange wrong forecasted for 8pm so apoligies for worrying bit before guys Smile

Been a while to see a nice overcast day with persisting showers and now quite solid rain. I just got soaked haha so it's really coming down atm. I think a pretty handy system, it's amazing how just no ones know what will happen despite all attempts of data, analysis etc. I think I'm on only 2mm but I guess I'll be happy with 5mm.

Handy falls over the state, been a while.

I would love to know the total so far at home, it is approaching 7mm in Laverton so we could be headed for our first double digit figure in a day since March. Very Happy

Classic case of why now-casting can be a problem! The models were on to this all along. Must admit to having lost my nerve (though always holding hope it would come good Razz ).

I suspect most of us were pretty shocked by the dismal performance on Sunday.

Looks like falls are now getting very close to 20mm across the Dandenongs - maybe could get that 30-40mm

8mm around here...impressive for me. Normally with events like this the hole in melbourne normally prevents this area from getting this much rain. It's been 2 hours of moderate-level rain here, impressed.

Well done DJ & Johnoo. Certainly has improved since lunchtime. Great to see the falls out west, and will except double that out east once this band has passed the state.

Persistent rain in CBD, slamming against 15th Floor window. Very Happy

What a difference it makes when you dont have a strong jet ripping systems to shreds..though even i am surprised how good this system has gone.
