Ye Hah! Scored 9mm since yesterday to push the month to 101mm
Catchments are up another 0.4% today with plenty more to flow once the snow melts. Shame their hourly updates are not working properly!

according to www.csweather.net (for caroline Springs weather) we have had 219mm of rain for the year with 59mm this month and actually (and this surprises me) 53.8mm in the past week.

Another 1.5mm today so we have crept over the 200mm mark for September and have a weekly total of 110mm. Not often the GFS is right (with it's crazy totals) but this time it did pick it! I suspect the odd location in the Dandenongs has had nearer to 300mm (particular around Olinda) while some of the catchments may well have seen close to 400mm (getting good data in expose alpine/sub-alpine areas is very hard).
BTW one thing that slipped under the radar was the cold max's. The last 3 days we have seen 8.8C, 7.6C and 9.6C. Certainly nothing record breaking, but still very chilly for late September. Yesterdays daytime max was 6.1C but it jumped during the night to 7.6C.
PS Apologies to those less fortunate.

Back from a few very cold days in Melbourne found 12 mm rain in gauge at home on arrival. We were in Middle Park area didn't appear to have any great rainfall there.Only pleased other people are getting good rain. We are getting very wet here paddock dams are nearly all full. So runoff will increase now.Norfolk don't wish any rain away for those poor folk in NSW just enjoy the rain. That takes our month total above average

Nice pics, I know the area well. I remember when it used to flood every year from Ivanhoe to Burnley. Leonda used to be inundated all the time too!
It used to make the front page of the paper if it was dry enough to walk over the weir at dights falls. I think they wanted to restore the river there to pre factory times but it didnt go ahead.
Got to 24 here this arvo!

Nice pictures Jane.
Seems like the river is going to be up for sometime. Good for the region to see the Yarra in flood!!!
