While the southeast - Vic etc - is mostly going to miss the action this week worth keep a closer eye on things. The EC has some light/moderate rainfall moving into the Mallee on Tues into Wed and then light stuff moving down along the SA/Vic border (see http://www.yr.no/place/Australia/Victoria/Glen_Waverley/advanced_map.html). For about 36 hours there is weak up-slide over Vic in NE winds into the upper trough - then the QLD system takes over.

Not really expecting anything in Ferny Creek, but could pick up a stray shower as the upper trough moves through.

First showers just about to move into the NW. Not heavy stuff but just 1mm will double the monthly total in that regions ... Shocked

There are a few showers now, some reasonbale slow movers which may accumulate to about 5mm locally over some farmlands.

Looks to be a slim chance in the south tomorrow and a little increase in precip tomorrow over the north and west with some isolated thunder possible too.

Alas we have to wait for real rainfall by about Monday. Looking complex right through the sequence.

Yeah just looking at the current charts, model information and radar/satellite images, things are looking okay for the NW of the state over the coming 12 hours, and isolated showers should develop in the west during the day. As Karl says, chance local thunder, though I doubt it now considering cloud cover - nevertheles, weather surprises. Wink

Yeah will defintely be touch and go but with the middle level instability and a bit of a trough drifting by there could be enough support for it. It is the most exciting weather I have seen since the drizzle of Saturday!!

Quite a few showers in the NW though currently missing the gauges (which are far apart). It's quite humid in the low levels so could be a bit with some of them.

EC brings them south in the next 24 hours but petering out just north of Melbourne.

A top score of 2.8mm at Werrimull. Not much but will increase their year to date by about 10% Crying or Very sad Also some light stuff about parts of the NE ATM but again not likely to be much in it.

Finally got down to the beach shack at Sandy Point (in south Gippsland) and found 34mm in the gauge for the week. Is very wet down here with lots of road-side puddles from the weekends rain and then drizzle/fog this week. Now on an impressive 300mmm year-to-date - about the best in Vic for the year Razz
