Really pissed off to be woken up (fell asleep briefly) by absolutely torrential rain on the roof, stopped immediately after I heard it, now back to light spitting rain and the radar shows a stationary narrow band of intense rainfall about 5km to my west. Evil or Very Mad What's the deal? Crying or Very sad

Not liking this at all. Evil or Very Mad Yet another hit and miss- some places getting completely smashed others completely missing out- farce of a system. Rolling Eyes What do we have to do to get a widespread rain event here?
This is getting completely beyond a joke.

Go to your agents website and file a damage/maint... report, this is the fastest way to get it fixed these days, don't even waste your time calling them, it's not on file so it won't get done. It will be fixed by mid week, once they get that report, I have a feeling the owner gets BC'd as well. It's the best thing that ever happened. I've rented all my life.

Back on topic, my roof is now leaking too, the rain is still coming down after a short break but this convergence line is so thin, it's a shame for those not under it. It's also weird to see what looks like stream showers in nature that usually come off the bay coming in from the NW. I'm not surprised by the flood alerts either, they should have put them out ages ago. Wishing everyone a good drop tonight!!

Well, that's it, I've written this one off already. Seen this nonsense too many times now. Would love to be made to look stupid and get torrential rain all night but this is so isolated and patchy, some places will get 50mm others will get a few mm, just like your average afternoon summer thunderstorm event. We're in serious trouble now.

Have a look at the national loop or Adelaide radar it may give you some more hope! I will say it now, I think this event has the potential for numerous 100mm falls, especially if that low deepens and heads our way.

Unfortnately not a lot to report here in Bundoora up till now. We had only had one 2 min burst of large sporadic drops and then occasional light rain over the past 3 hours. But, now it is raining steadily so hopefully it sets in for the night.

Several minutes later and its starting to come down harder - not yet pouring but getting better!

Chin up Andrew. Go back to sleep for an hour or so and then re-assess. Can understand your frustration, long way to go until we start calling this event a dud.

Yeah, like I said pay for it yourself if your Landlord doesn't listen and claim it under 'urgent repairs'. The Landlord will have to reimburse you provided you give him/her 14 days written notice of the repairs and cost. Haha, sorry to be off-topic.

The rain is soo heavy! Loving it.

Yeah I was going to the path of thinking dud but have been proven wrong in a big way. More heavy rain and the SE/E flow is beginning so I think you will catch up once that area of heavy rain NW of the state moves SE.

This rain has been amplified but the afternoon seabreeze front that rolled through at 6pm.

What rainfall have you got Wes? Up to 14mm here now.

Chance of a rogue bolt but not a high probability. Lots of rainfall and flash flooding potential under heavier cells.

Lightning more likely in the middle morning tomorrow onwards...South Australia having severe storms with 110kph wind gusts. We could get something similar I guess.

we are not doing too bad here ourselves. For an area not normally nown for getting good rain, for most of the night it has been on and off quite heavy showers. (Which it is doing again as I type!). I am going to say we have had 9mm so far, and if this continues, it could be 20mm by the end of the night!

Sniper...I am right there, here in Cazza Springs!

Well it should come back Wes thanks.. Make it 16mm here now and still fanging down. What is interesting is that the heavy bursts alternate between small and medium drops and then you get these enormous thumping bursts of 50c piece rainfall!!

That rainfall in SA is incredible. Being analysed as orange in the radar hole there is insane!! So hopefully that can hold. Mostly embedded thunder and winds will be mixed down easterly by the time it gets here so low % of there being damaging winds.

Hey norf, my brother lives out in Taylors Hill off Calder Pk Drive..you far from there?

karl, what is you take on this possible low. Any idea if this will come off and if so, where abouts (within a 100km radius please Cool ).

Line has shifted slightly east, so I am now copping good rain again.
