Re: Melbourne and Victoria daily weather commentary
A very mild 13.3C here today - about 4C above average. Cloud with 0.2mm of spitting rain. A dull start to winter
Re: Melbourne and Victoria daily weather commentary
Very dull but again very mild in FC today. Max of 12.8C which is 4-5C above average for us. Was noticebly warmer up here than in Boronia tonight as we poke into the mild NE flow while low level inversions develop in the valley.
Only a trace today after 0.2mm yesterday... though a few showers now moving in.

Re: Melbourne and Victoria daily weather commentary
Another mild one today though a bit less humid and a bit cooler. Max of 18C in the city and 12C in Ferny Creek. Certainly some nice convection around today - mainly south and northwest of the city but nothing to report from either the CBD or Ferny Creek.
Re: Melbourne and Victoria daily weather commentary
If it was Summer and we had the current set-up of the past few days, Victoria would be getting smashed by thunderstorms all over the place. There was always the risk for an isolated thunderstorm during the past three or so days, but I guess convective showers was the most things could get at.
For here, a freezing morning, then a sunny day with light winds. No rainfall either.

2.1C here overnight in clear skies thanks to stable air wedged between the two lows.

Great 24 hours in South Gippsland (for the weekend) - mild winter sunshine and almost no wind. More like April than June. Shame the fish weren't responding - just one football size todie for the day
Re: Melbourne and Victoria daily weather commentary
Its been a very wet Saturday night and Sunday here at Simpson South, and the persisten rainfall continues today, I dont think it has stopped once since I went to bed last night. My totals will be in the breaking weather thread.

Only reached 10.5c here today and the temp has taken a dive down to 5.1c after a heavy shower with some small sleety hail. Must be close to snowing in the Dandies soon.

14mm to 9am this morning and another 5mm since - puts the event up to ~29mm which is getting respectable. Haven't got the max for today (forgot to ask the wife) but expect it was about 7C. First really cold day of the year.
Re: Melbourne and Victoria daily weather commentary
Absolutley freezing today. And we scored 9mm to 9am this morning. Generally no rainfall since then, just the odd shower or two.
Re: Melbourne and Victoria daily weather commentary
We have done quite well here with 21mm's up to 9am this morning and 3.6mm's since then plenty of small hail last night but nothing like the hailstorms in the inner eastern suburbs like Kew. Top today was again 10.5c and now its 5.8c. Snow down to low levels overnight with some snow on the ground at Kinglake and Marysville this morning both only about 450 metres ASL. Looks like milder weather ahead with some light patchy rain on the weekend as a decaying low passes across. Now up to 36mm's for the month and 205mm's for the year.

Apparent temperature at Melbourne Airport was 0.0c about 15 mins ago! Cold air advection or wind chill? I can't work it out since the wind's a northerly.. either way IT'S COLD!

Snowd'on Av welcome to you!!! Please keep in touch!!
It is sooooooo cold out there tonight with that northerly wind!! It is howling at times down the hill here with the build up over northerlies happening a km to my north then rolling down wind along the slope. Temp at 6.9C, all we need is rain and then it would be perfect winter weather
Some light falls to come in from the west!!
