Well we are up against West Indies and Pakistan who in theory we should smash so it could be very painful if we lose the two series. Crying or Very sad

5 minutes before Day 4 starts, and the Aussies have a small run chase ahead, only requiring 466 runs to win, or bat out 180 over (minimum) to draw and retain the Ashes. TAB Sportsbet have the Aussies at 4.50, so they think once in every 4.5 times the Aussies could chase down another 466 runs on a crumbling pitch. This is despite the fact that no team in the history have chased over 418 to win a test. I'd want 50-1 for the Aussies to win.

Anyway my gut feel is we will be all out 242 soon after tea. Pitch is not that bad once you've been in for a while, it's just getting in. Take it that we have blokes that notoriously take a long time to "get in", like in the first innings wickets could be falling in bunches.

Let's see what happens!!

After a positive start, both Katich and Watson are gone, both LBW. Ponting and Hussey at the crease. Hussey needs 150 to keep his spot.

Fat lady is starting to warm up!!

Ponting and Hussey get to lunch unscathed at 2/171. 91 runs in the session for the loss of 2 wickets. 375 runs (or around 4 sessions play) to win. Gonna be a long night!!

Haven't been watching it. Expected us to be about 7/130 by now so a bit surprised to see 2/171. Still we can get to 2/400 for all I care because I know as soon as the next guy gets out a spectacular collapse will follow. Evil or Very Mad

DC, I'm with Andrew on this one. We could be 2/400 and I'll be still crapping myself. I am finding Strauss' field placings a tad defensive. Still has over 300 in the bank, but has not close catchers for Ponting on the off side. I'd have 4 around the bat given the spin this pitch is producing. Invite the drive..

Never is mate. We haven't lost them often in the last 25-30 years. A stroke of luck for Ponting, edge hits Collingwood' boot and balloons behind him. Bell should have called him off and taken the catch. Would have been a hellish way to go out!!

Broad given 1st warning for running on the pitch. Win fairly you dog!!

Edit: Without consulting the Rules, if Broad receives another 2 warnings he cannot bowl for the remainder of the innings. Interesting given that his old man is the current match referee tongue.

Ponting playing some extravagant shots at the moment. Ah well, he's going down fighting which you would expect from the Captain!!!

36 runs since lunch, pretty much a run a minute.

Mental note to Poms: Do not appeal when ball is pitched some 6 inches outside leg. There is every chance Billy Bowden will raise crooked finger!!

Pup out, run out, a freak incident, a ricochet from Cook to Strauss how nailed Pup by bugger all.
Pretty much sums up the way the tour has gone.
