Tasmania: Rain event June 25th-27th
Tasmania is enjoying the spolis of these lows, with Hobart and other Tasmanian communities enjoying a good drop. The SatPic is showing a vigorous E/SE flow which will ensure decent totals over the next day or two.

Thats twice now this month that Eastern Tasmania has been in this similar set up with these lows bringing big deluges that way already all of Eastern Tasmania has had above average to well above average rainfall for June this will top it up even more.. Lucky buggers.

Yep Karl but for some reason it keeps missing out on Gippsland.. It rains heavily in SE Qld and NSW coasts then advoids Victoria like the plague and rains in torrents in Eastern Tasmania we have the worst luck down here and thats an understatement.
Meanwhile 25mm in Hobart since 9am takes them to 131mm for the month well and truly well above average. The average there is around 50mm for June.

Thanks for keeping us up to date re Tassie. Like I mentioned before my sister and brotherinlaw live near Huonville down south and are building a house and living on the land in a shed. They have had so much rain in the last month
Re: Tasmania: Rain event June 25th-27th
Should be 50-60mm event for southern and eastern TAS.

Just saw a greyhound race from Hobart in absolute driving rain. Good luck to 'em.

Have friends in Hobart who reckon it is sodden.... and plenty more to come with a long-fetch easterly upslide.
PS Rivergirl I was "born" in Huonville... a great part of the world (though the locals look and speak funny ).

Thanks Karl
at hillybilly. My sister and her husband are 2kms from Huonville at Ranelagh. They came from the Central Coast in NSW two months ago. They reckon the locals drive too fast

111mm at Mt Wellington and still falling. Fast closing in on a 300mm month. Has been an extraordinary month down there with repeated upsliding east/northeast flow, and more to come. Also interesting that EC has another one of these events developing late next week (time will tell).
