Well we got a nice dumping up here!!! Woke up Sunday morning after a bit of drizzle. Went to church then out to sisters house for a late lunch till about 730pm. When I woke up this morning to lots of puddles around the house found an amazing 32mm in the gauge!!! Was certainly not expecting that much!!!

Another 1.5mm between 8:30pm and 10:30pm last night, final total 23mm.
Also very green up here. Still rather brown and dead looking right through the western suburbs but then greens up a bit at Sunbury and then heaps from Riddells Creek onwards. Lots of puddles all over the place and standing water in creeks/drains.
Looking very wet over the course of the next week and a half. Probably the best outlook for rain we have seen for ages.

Just by way of illustration here is a map showing the heat on Sunday (perhaps the peak of the event). The red areas are where a new record high August temperature was set, the orange areas are where the day was in the warmest 1% of August days, and yellow where it was in the warmest 3% of August days.
