Absolute carbon copy of yesterday with rain areas virtually develoing on our doorstep...saw lightning to the south at 3am when I was driving down eastlink too and air is rather warm so storms a good chance again...

Rainshadow doing its thing at the moment across the whole Melbourne basin area should of known Mad No wonder there hasn't been a drop here since Midnight. Hopefully as the change approaches be a line and we all get some rain and can manage 5mm still.

Models have really ramped Monday/Tuesday again EC in particular.. EC has us sub 995hPa to 1000hPa from Monday morning until at least Tuesday night it also has 5340 thickness over us Monday night and 5280 thickness over us Tuesday night now which translates into a Decent cold outbreak now with snow possibly down to 500-600 metres with hail and thunder and the works and looking showery and rather windy til at least Thursday morning what others think?

The systems keep on coming both GFS and EC have something decent next weekend as well especially EC.

The jet is too strong so it's ripping things up.

Little bit of a shame so I think now the region is looking at 10mm or so now.

Very wet and windy last night, managed to see lightning out at sea, a few cg's evident. Not sure on totals yet at my place. Looks to be quite a good line coming towards my area now from the west.

Added 2.6mm overnight from heavy showers then with light rain on and off this morning. Would expect the donut to be a feature today until nearer the front. The front is near Mortlake ATM.

A few good falls clocking up with lots of 10mm+ across the west and the northeast. Best ATM is AIREYS INLET AWS on 13.4mm.

The progs look to be ramping up the weekend and next week so plenty more to come - Monday and Tuesday look particularly wild, wet and windy Very Happy

Looks like a nice squall line on the front now approaching Melbourne. Is moving very quickly so total won't be great. Mt William shows a 46 knot gust with the front, a burst of heavy rain and a near 4C drop.

Get your cameras ready - could be quite photogenic.

Expecting 5mm now with front but could get lucky with cold air. Coming through at the right time. Local thunderstorms to follow this afternoon.

Plenty of AccAs in the sky with cu and turkeys developing ahead of the cold front. Might thicken a little as it comes in.

Squall line get more defined each frame. Good to see the band directly behind holding intensity. Almost looks like a secondary line forming. Time to tie the dogs down tongue

I don't think Lilydale got much last night at all! Annoying, but the wind here now is very very strong, up with last Saturday night/Sunday morning.

And it is getting stronger, I think some of these gusts would have to be higher than we had last weekend.
