Very frustrating being in the CBD today and tomorrow, just when the weather looks interesting. Woodend is about to get hit by the bad now, glad I emptied the gauge this morning as we will see what this lot brings.

Has just hit here in Sunshine although not heavy yet, wind has picked up and it's very black out there. I'm about to leave work so I'll be driving home right into it along the Deer Park bypass. Will report back later when I get home.

The rain is finally here! Very light at the moment, but the radar's showing that it should be getting heavier very soon.

I guess it just means isolated showers that cover a large area. Wink If only this is what 'isolated showers' meant, imagine 'showers' or 'rain'. Wink

Got this reply from BOM:

Unfortunately the radar had an internal fault and was offline for around 12hours.
It has just been rectified and will be online in 15mins... Please refresh the radar images soon.

It is extremely heavy now, and has been for the past 5 minutes. The radar shows the yellow blob in the rain cell is expanding or atleast keeping it's shape for a bit longer.

13mm here to 9am this morning. A very windy day, gusts to 80 km.h it felt like.

Expect showers and thunderstorms to spread throughout tonight, thought thunderstorms mostly restricted on and south of the ranges and particularly the far south. I can see glorius CG lightning out at sea atm, and looks like there are further thunderstorms moving in on me from the west and perhaps squall lines which was in my forecast the other day. Very interesting cannot wait!!!!!!! I have to milk though, but should be out by the time it gets here hopefully!!!!! Will keep you updated!

The rain has passed me.....for the moment. I hope there's more to come but by the looks of the radar, I don't think there will be for the next hour as things further ahead look to either be dissipating or missing my area.

The animated ir satelite looks great with cloud/rain building from the west and heading SE. Could we be in for a sustained period of rain/showers for the next few hours? Tennis is definately a wash out tonight Moderate rain continuing here.

3mm here so far in the hour of rain nice band coming down from the Nw nice to see but please go inland Smile

Se SA and Adelaide are getting hammered many 20mm falls over there today, with still a few hours of rain and cold pool to come that should move into West Vic overnight dumping good 5-10mm falls south of Ouyen, very little north of that though sadly.

Sw will see a nice 20mm things will be very wet down there

Here should be on and off bursts of rain with a solid bad to come though between 8-12am should see 10mm by 9am i reckon looking great to west but that will die a bit before getting here but not by that much

Hope the Mounts and dams get slammed with Loads of Rain and Snow.

Amazing how evident the radar hole is out to the West...once each band moves East you can start to see it fill once it gets to a certain point on the radar...looking like a very wet night!

2 bands for me, 8am a few mm and 4 pm about 5mm. Great sky early on then just gloom.

BOM on radio is saying gusts to 130kph in elevated parts of the city. Official forecast has nothing more than 55kph. Not good enough to have such misinformation in this day and age.
