Amazing if you look at the radar that all the cells close by are starting and being suck straight into the main storm...just phenomenal!! And more cells still kicking on through the west as the airmass hasnt changed at all..

OMG! OMG! OMG!
I was just down the beach at the end of North Rd. Got totally smashed for a solid 10 minutes, flash flooding everywhere. Got some great (for me) lighting shots and some video as the core hit.
INSANE!!!

Re: Victoria: Thunderstorm Outbreak. October 28th-November 3rd 2009
29mm here for the thunderstorms. Lucky again. Going to survey the damage. Had clockwise winds of 30-40 knots with the rain/large hail.
Storm just to my east.

Bulk of the storm has now past. One of the few times a storm has had me worried. Suprisingly large number of
cg and constant cc. A couple of the close ones sounded almost mechanical like a jet engine as they cracked over head. Very very impressive event. But guess who left an open wheely bin out?

Re: Victoria: Thunderstorm Outbreak. October 28th-November 3rd 2009
Just went for a quick chase for a vantage point around Camberwell, then headed down to Warrigal Road to try and head south. An absolute flang-fest - water covered the road in seconds and I had to crawl at 50km/h for about half an hour.
I stopped to have a look at the Melways for a vantage point with shelter around Clayton and Centre roads, but had to move out quick due to hail the size of grapes bouncing off my car.
Got home, took some pics and about to go through them, but as I type it seems to be firing up a little at the back end, so might have to head back out.
Rog.
WOW BIG CG!!!!!!

28mm and she is not abaiting. I suspect the North of here has been hit harder. Areas around Upper Beaconsfield and Cardinia must be getting a pounding.
Re: Victoria: Thunderstorm Outbreak. October 28th-November 3rd 2009
Wow! You guys really copped it! We are hearing slight rumbles here - which is strange because those storms are a huge distance away and we have nothing here except for a few spits of rain, must've been intense as we are hearing thunder here!
