Just in case anyone is interested, here are my photos taken in the Rockies in Canada late April, some are weather related Smile

I took 6,000 photos Shocked and these are the best of them. The Rockies are just awesome, it's such a beautiful, rugged place. I'm so lucky that this was the second trip I have won there in 3 years.

extraordinary set of images there, very inspirational. Just a question, what gear did you end up taking on your trip? I'm going to NZ in Aug and there will be some similarities in terms of landscape. I'll be borrowing my friends 16-35 and his lee ND filter set which i hope will help with the contrast issues with snow and darker objects.

Thanks Greg. You'll have to put your photos from NZ up here, I love your photography. I remember that amazing storm cloud pic you took with the field and grasses in the foreground, it was stunning. I travelled very light to Canada as I didn't have my husband with me to help carry extra photography gear and laptop lol. I left my 10-20mm Sigma lens at home which I rued and forgot that my filters and polarisers were in that camera bag aaargh. So in the end I only had my Canon 40D with the Tamron 18-250mm lens with the UV filter. I took panos to make up for not having the wide angle but not much I could do about the filters and polarisers except resorting to taking the pics through my sunglasses which I didn't do this time.

You are going to love NZ, I went there last year. It's an amazing rugged country like Canada.
Here are the NZ pics

Last week I bought the Canon 50D and the new Tamron 18-270mm lens. Love them both. Next up for me is the Mediterranean in September.

Great Shots... --- nice new camera too.. I nearly bought it the other week when I was in Teds, I come out with a canon 50mm 1.8 lens instead, I was looking at the ef 70-300 is usm lens with the new camera and thought nah just wait a bit, so a Little Jealous of your purchase, be good to see some shots out of it.

Hey Shell. I bought a Canon 50mm 1.8 lens last year and it was fantastic hand held in low light areas. I bought my 50D from Cameras Direct in Qld, it was here two days later and was $1517 (body only) Latest Ted's price $1699 reduced. I tried the 50D out on my friends Hannah and Anton in my studio on Friday. Used the 18-270mm Tamron lens to see how it performed in portraiture as it normally isn't used for that. Happy with the results.

Thanks Shell, I use that lens most of the time, whenever I go away that is the only lens I take with me, well it was the 18-250 before I got the latest one. I think it's great. I bought my last Tamron from Kirks, they are a good store but I've found it's cheaper to get your gear online. I paid $965 from Cameras Direct for the Tamron lens. You can see their website here http://www.camerasdirect.com.au/

At home I sometimes take my 10-20mm Sigma lens if I think I might be taking landscapes but I would say 99% of the time I just leave my Tamron on. One thing the lens isn't good at is macro but I have a 100mm macro lens for that.

PS We are posting our Dandenongs challenge very soon, maybe tomorrow on redbubble, this one is very exciting.
