Well just too wet to be outside today. Drizzle hasn't stopped - just gone from light to heavy to light again. Had another 2.5mm since 9am and currently falling thickly outside.
Can make out the front now in Bass Strait moving over King Island. Should see showers pick-up this arvo ahead and with it.

Well had a couple of very light drizzy showers earlier but it seems that it is clearing up now but still cold out there.

Another 1.2mm here in quick time from a convergent band. Should see showers come up tonight with another 5mm out east. Next to nothing to the west.

5.0mm for yesterday in the end. Mostly light drizzle stuff but had one brief heavy shower at ~4pm with a rainfall rate of 50mm/hr for about 30 second. Cold arrived over night - but a shame not much rain behind the "front" - only 0.6mm for us after the cold air pushed through.
Good to see showers shared round a bit this morning in a more southerly airstream - this shifts more westerly today and stabilises so showers returning to westerly facing areas (like Yarra Valley) but decreasing in number.
Off to the Warburton today so will report back on the snow.
PS next weekend now looking wet...

Copped a rogue coldie at 4.00 AM. Ended up with 7mm for the day, not bad! If you include the 4mm on Tuesday, we have collected 43mm out of the sequence. Great start to July, with most of the month to come. Hard to recall the last month that we exceded the long term average, but we have an excellent platform to achieve atleast average falls this month.

Had a light frost up here and have high cloud coming in from the NW now so we should have a cool fine day.

Not much more to report today - a chilly one with a max of 8.7C after a low of 4.8C and a few light showers but nothing recordable so far.
Made it up to Donna Buang - may post a photo later. Snow was down to about 1000m in little patches and a cover of 2-5cm at the top - especially where it hadn't been trampled. Not great photo weather - foggy & occasionally spitting grains of snow/rain.
Hoping for a few more showers tonight into tomorrow with the "front".
EDIT - a photo of Donna Buang today

Min of 3.2°C to a max to 7.4°C and currently 4.3°C in Trentham with drizzle patches during the early afternoon.....giving a total of 0.2mm.
Total for the even was 52.2mm and there are creeks now running that weren't running for the past 18 months - a good sign that the water table is on its way back up.....
Clyve has put up an interesting forecast for the next week for the central ranges (as distinct from the North Central forecast area) - get the feeling that I might be getting broken sleep a couple of nights making sure that the pipes don't freeze.....

Few showers here in Glen Waverley presently.
A couple of mm at the heads presently with a little cold air and the risk of hail.

Bit surprised to see 3.5mm in the gauge last night from showers. Showered/drizzled for about 4 hours in the end with a bit of fog - event total now on 61mm
and more than half way to the monthly average.
Looks like the front should be into Victoria by mid morning (can see it in the of showers through Bass Strait). There is a big wind shift of the change from WNW to near S. Not expecting much on the change... maybe 5mm in Ferny Creek.

Low stratus and drizzle in the city but hardly enough to wet the ground. City ends on 12mm for the event... and is on track for another below average month - unbelievable!
Looks like 3-4mm back home.

It's insane that CBD and W plains region just don't get rain!!! Solid drizzle for an hour and a half with a burst of rain as we went southerly.
