Re: South East low sequence June 27-July 6 2009
Had a nice bit of drizzle here earlier, not sure exactly how much, but definitely enough to soak the ground a bit. Weekend delivered a nice amount at home (although some what annoying when you have a house full of guests) Interested to see what the next system brings us.

And a big part of the reason why it doesn't get rain or proper rain was cos 85% of the time since Thursday night the winds have been to SW or even WSW at times and hardly southerly or SSW expect for a very brief time Friday morning for a few hours and right now when its the end when everything is clearing up. Over the last few years this has been happening way to far often which is why I was so desperate in seeing the GFS and GASP scenarios comes off last week when they insisted we would have southerlies or SSW airstream for the weekend instead of the SW that EC had but typical whatever model disfavours us out this way is always the right one regardless if its EC or GFS. Anyway time to move on & lets see what next weekend delivers.

So whats everyone expecting for next weekend? Are any of the models suggesting anthing for the western burbs? Pleeeaaase! My newly sown grass needs some natural intervention. So far i would suggest its been reasonably mild this winter. Bring on a cold burst. Next weekend perhaps?

yes pretty much like you all said out here, no rain today at all. Lots of dew though this morning, thats how most of my outdoor plants get their moisture these days!

Yay! So this is where you've all been hiding, great to see you all again And thanks to Johnno for the heads up (tried to respond to your pm over on WZ but your mailbox is full ).
Anyway, I probably won't be much use here at the moment, the puppy's buggered up my rain gauge so you'll have to take AmaroK's totals as being the same for me here in Lysterfield for now
We were camping up at Ballarat over the weekend and boy was it cold and wet! If it had been a few degrees cooler I'm sure it would have snowed. We're seriously thinking of hiring ourselves out as drought breakers as every time we go away camping the heavens open (our last trip we went up to Coffs Harbour right when the whole area flooded in March ).

Looks like this system is done and dusted. Best one for the year here so far - 66.1mm in total with a further 4.5mm falling today. Now only 880mm to go to our annual average
Also a chilly one today 8.1C with plenty of fog and drizzle. Will make for a cold one tonight under clearing skies.

Under 4C now, SCu still hanging on but starting to break up now. With 2.5mm here today, roads are quite wet and there are decent puddles around. With 0C temps likely overnight that will make for a lot of ice around tomorrow morning, not black ice though hopefully.

Well back now from a short little holiday to my grandparents....
I will just quickly say that this event was well and we 16.2mm on the Wed, 25.0mm on the Thu and 17.0mm on the Fri. We had 5.6mm on Sun and 6.2mm on Monday morning. So an interesting event and looking forward to further rainfall as it comes.
