Thickening cloud cover seems to be slowing down the increase of surface temps out here. May not be able to get quite warm enough this side of the city, No rain here, and havnt had a chance to look to the south, is there much rain in that stuff on the radar?

Nice little cell just appeared near Pakenham. There certainly are some nice cells rapidly start to build up around the place!

Looks like all the temps are starting to drop off again now according to current obs on bom. Not sure if this will be enough for much storm activity, but definitely looking good for some falls around the state this afternoon.

Pretty sure we had a rumble here before from the cell which went over Lysterfield. The cell that went over Koo Wee Rup looked rather severe and seemed to be slightly left moving which suggests some rotation
Would expect cells to pop up very soon just north of the city and race down over the eastern burbs. Perhaps within the next couple of frames...

Nothing here in Sunshine yet, will keep posted if things develop. Windy with increasing cloud cover here.

Nice storm to the SE. Should explode along that boundary over coming 2 hours then rain periods to follow.
Oh and can confirm thunder DJ. Heard two rumbles.

Had a short shower here, did not last long, but sky is threatening of further showers. Getting very interesting looking out there.

Loving the little front that has just come through here in Notting Hill. Nice lifting at the front and subsidence at the back, which will hopefully form a weak roll cloud for those a little further inland
There were some impressive updrafts into the approaching front with very fast moving fractus. I even spotted a couple of small, weak vapour funnels in one particular region that lasted a few seconds each (my heart did a little skip as I have not seen too many of these in my time).
Loving it - like an early spring
Rog.

Very springlike change moving through. Heavy shower here with WNW winds. Scuddy based and rain curtains further west. Could be a bit in it later.

Just came back from lunch, it was black as a dogs guts looking towards the south west. There is a smell of rain in the air too.
As I just posted the above it started raining.

Have been watching rain curtains dance through the valley below for the last half hour. The scuds are sitting 1-200m below us which gives an eerie effect.
Signs of the bands back-building towards the north - not really heavy stuff but should soon see showers set in soon.
PS up to 25C across parts of Sydney ATM. Lots of records (again) being set or approached.

Had a weird hail like shower along Swan st about 20mins ago, now it's trying so hard to rain. The temp has really dropped too. Scud is coming in from the SW underneath the WNW flow above, could make things interesting, and yes it is very spring like

Temps here have drop about 4 degrees in the last 30 minutes, nothing to the north in the way or rain, to the south is nice and evil looking with the occasional visible rain curtain, north west starting to look a little more promising, but i wont be holding my breath for much more than maybe 5-8mm.

Caught a glimpse of that hail shower before from this way. Looked breezy underneath as curtains veered sharply towarda the surface. The remnants here presently.
Otherwise waiting in the east still.
Nice storms to the far NE sky.

In the tail end of that rapidly developing red cell on radar, witness some nice outflow rotation. That larger band out west should get here soonish. What a welcome sound!
Re: Victoria: A series of fronts and possible low July 19th-24th 2009
Finally a decent shower here and looks quite dark to the west still would estimate close to 2mm perhaps so far and bit more to come I think. Winds between SW and SSW here.

Raining on and off here at work, things could get interesting looking at the radar. Fingers crossed.

Nice change moving through..and on radar 2 distinct bands. Expect some storms to fire on the edge of the fron itself as well as it pushes up from the SW. Lots of coldies over Adelaide too so could be a bit following too..

It's been raining here now for about half and hour, quite heavy at times with mixed small hail. For us poor old Melbourne folk it's a nice sight, temp still dropping and radar is still looking good. Currently 10.7c and still raining

5mm here and still raining light to moderate looks like one of the better falls for once. Looks like were at the edge of this band & the band behind it looks like its falling apart to me. The thing that concerns me is there is hardly any showers following up from the SW or SSW behind it for Central Victoria/Melbourne.
