Few cells poping up around Ballarat on the radar. Heading East. Might get something around Melton/Sunbury in the coming couple of hours.
Be nice to get another shower or 2 around here later, just to keep it nice and wet before the better rainband (hopefully) on Sunday - Monday.

There not too much out there structually wise ATM. But there plenty happening still. That sun got some heat to it today as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see a line form se to nw and head ne in the next 2 hours. Decent totals of about 10mm if you get under a good cell, bit mainly in the 2-6mm for most others...

Could see the odd rumble this afternoon as temps get closer to 19C.
Local showers this afternoon with isolated totals to 5mm

Looks like Andrew may be in luck - 10mm at Mt Macedon. Shame they are so localised.

A few echoes building up north of bendigo now... cant see anything from here though. Lots of junk up there atm.
Kilmore seems to be a storm/cell hotspot the last few years. A nice little cell popping up there just now....

Well, only 6mm here. I guess I was too optimistic but things didn't really fall into place. Should have followed John's downgradings.
Looking to warm up a bit but hopefully not too warm with my newly founded heat intolerance Hoping it stays cold for a while yet so my body can sort itself out..

Well, had 7mm's from the system over the last 3 days, a few showers this afternoon over mainly northern subs, Melbourne airport 2.6mm's but nothing here. Next system on Sunday looks warm and windy ahead of this front so maybe some thunder when it comes though, hoping for up to 10mm's from it.

Nice little cell just popped up west of the CBD. May just miss the city gauge but looks very black and "torrential".

Wow Riki! Fantastic photos there! ) Glad you got something, today was just some slight drizzle and cloud. Enough to wet the ground so can't complain too much.

Well done John!! Just copped the southern tip of that cell, 0.2mm only.
Nice couple of days ahead, looking forward to fishing on Westernport early Saturday morning. Anyone want any squid?

Well it tried and failed to drizzle on and off for about an hour in bayswater this afternoon, but really wasnt much in it. Was a beautiful day for the most part, nice and warm. looks like we are in for some fairly comfortable days over the next week. With a few small showers in the burbs (hopefully a couple of mm near me, my garden needs it)

I would guess about 2mm from the CBD storm around Docklands. Hit just as a lot of people were walking the Collins Street bridge to the station (always fun watching them run).
BTW watch for some showers on Saturday also (http://www.yr.no/place/Australia/Victoria/Melbourne/long.html). We could see a warm front like feature early as strong warm air advection kicks in.

No dud here at all.
Some impressive structure around visible from the train coming home. Even thought I saw a funnel like feature out to the east around 5:30pm. Mostly sunny and then all of a sudden dark as guts when I got to Clarkefield. From Sunbury right through to home there was evidence of some pretty heavy showers around and 5.8mm in the gauge at home. That was on top of 2.2mm of that thick drizzly/light rain stuff overnight so actually ended up with 8mm since last night, very lucky with that I must say. Still frustrated though by not being where the action is half the time, whenever somethign decent develops over my place I'm in Melbourne and often vice versa.
14.6mm overall from the entire sequence, 'event' whatever you call it which in the end was only about 5mm shy of what I thought I'd get anyway right from the start, just not in the same form I was expecting it, spread out over the sequence rather than all falling with the low itself.
This weather is typical of spring, it may as well be mid to late September as I've mentioned earlier, winter is well and truly finished now. The sun is just starting to get some warmth to it now after its winter holiday.

0.1mm for Ferny Creek. Only just enough to dampen the roads.
Agree totally Andrew. I can't recall such a non-winter in my life. We have had (about) 4 cold days in the Dandenongs for the whole of winter and no real snow to speak of. For me the most obvious thing has been the lack of cold rather than the excess of warmth - it's just been mild day after mild day.
