AFL 2009 Forum Style
All I have to say is I am now getting very interested in Brisbane!! My boys are actually doing quite well. The season is panning out as to what the experts were stating. Geelong is just plain scary!!
Pies are woeful...grumpy Mick has to go!!

Even tho my Bombers lost tonight they were catching up with St Kilda in the second half and hey what a win last week over Hawthorn and then there was the Anzac Day match when they beat Collingwood. Alas I was on top of a mountain in the Canadian Rockies that day but I was wearing my Bombers scarf that I've had for 20 years

The Bombers did OK tonight. I think the Saints were a little sloppy and ahead of themselves but the Bombers look to have a bit of a crack at most sides this year so there could be surprises coming into the second half of the season!!

Re: AFL 2009 Forum Style
Yep Karl they're looking good. They've beaten the three best teams this season
Re: AFL 2009 Forum Style
More pain for a struggling lifetime Richmond supporter, one of the best games they've played for years but still found a way to lose. Cousins out with a broken hand for at least next week against Essendon, certainly get our fair share of bad luck at Tigerland.
Rest of the season looking better though with some stars back in the lineup, i.e Cotchin.

Yes, nothing stirs up passions in VIC more than AFL football.

I was actually quite impressed at the Dogs and Cats last night. I thought it might have been an upset of the year!
As for my beloved pies...I think we can pretty much kiss this year goodbye. We're definately not going to be good enough against the Eagles over there

Best game of the year so far!! Poor old Aker didn't get the fairytale but a game not too forget.
Grumpy Mick needs to go as does the poor attitude on field if the Pies are going to improve. Bit of a culture developing there which is not positive.
Not as bad as Richmond!!!

Re: AFL 2009 Forum Style
Great game last night, frustrating result!
Good to see Geelong looking quite vulnerable when they are not allowed the space all over the ground. Bulldogs were fantastic with their tackling, excellent skills and matching Geelong at times with their speed of movement across the ground.
Media all over Richmond making things out to be worse than what it really is. Really the team hasn't had a bad few weeks. Should have beaten Port Adelaide over there, were close to beating Sydney at the SCG, thrashed Nth Melbourne. Also earlier in the year almost knocked off Geelong at Skilled Stadium and as bad as the Melbourne game was the margin was only 8 points in the end from memory and another few minutes and we would have won. Could have easily been 5-3 when you think of it.
Still I am a passionate Richmond fan and probably a bit biased at times.

Haha, I ahad no idean you went for Richmond Andrew. Better luck next year
Last nights match was good as. One of the best. I had my tips in for Geelong of course, but I had that feeling the Bullys might get there, was damn close and I was pulling my hair out by the end of it! Though the end result was great. Got my tip right so all is well... lol.

I keep supporting Richmond despite the hopeless situation the club is in on and off field. I couldn't possibly support another team. If Richmond are no good I don't really have that much of an interest in AFL in general. It's a pity because I really enjoy going to the games but don't' anymore really because it ends up a waste of time and money watching the team playing badly.

Re: AFL 2009 Forum Style
They will be good again one time mate. The club needs to sort themselves out quite a bit.
I was glad last night that Essendon won. Good match, but they really got moving in the 2nd half which they needed to do.

I've been a Bombers supporter for 23 years and have followed them though thick and thin. You just have to hang in there Tony. Great win by Bombers (sorry Anthony ). Looks like they are in the top 6 for the year which is fantastic
Re: AFL 2009 Forum Style
Essendon are a very good side this year. Pushed St. Kilda all the way, thrashed Hawthorn and have beaten Carlton (I'm pretty sure) and of course Collingwood. Finals are almost a certainty I reckon for the bombers.
I'm Andrew by the way. I know it is hard to keep up with all the names and usernames etc. on these forums.

Sorry Andrew, I don't know why I said Tony. Not thinking too clearly today, have put my neck out and have a constant pain in the back of my head. Can't wait to see the chiropractor tomorrow. Yes really pleased with how Essendon are going. They seem to be beating the best teams this year.
Re: AFL 2009 Forum Style
Well I got 6 this week for my tips. We should have all started a tipping competition on this forum via the footytips website. It would have been great to do, but an option for next season perhaps? My family and friends are doing it this year and it is very good.
Re: AFL 2009 Forum Style
Not too sure Essendon can make the 8, they remind me a lot of Collingwood from 96-99 under Tony Shaw. Started the season the first 8 or so weeks flying then dropped their bundle, played a very attacking style. So the real test will be in the next 6 weeks, win 3 of those and most likely they may in fact make it.
Question is, who the hell will take their spot? A lot of ordinary teams out there this year...

I was happy with the Lions yesterday - granted they got run over in the end but they are showing some good signs.

Re: AFL 2009 Forum Style
Lions showing good signs and St. Kilda showing some signs that perhaps they are not as good as Geelong. Then again Geelong are showing signs they may not be quite as good now as everyone assumes. Interesting duel at the top of the ladder between Bulldogs and the those other two I mentioned.

Re: AFL 2009 Forum Style
What do you guys think of the Essendon and Geelong match this week? I personally think we (the Bombers ) will give Geelong something to think about. The only thing is, Essendon need to get going quickly, not after half-time as they have previously done.
Re: AFL 2009 Forum Style
Geelong are very gettable this week, they are starting to loose interest a bit i feel.

Re: AFL 2009 Forum Style
Not sure this weekend about Bombers vs Geelong. They seem to be in a sequence of win lose win lose win lose win atm so lose is next but nonetheless I'll be there cheering them on
