Can see that Severe storm to the NW now and its moving ready to go over my area! Its going to be so cool. ok, I am gone for a little while!
Re: Victoria: Thunderstorm Outbreak. October 28th-November 3rd 2009 #2
Well still bloody hot up here but is starting to cool slightly. Wind has died back and cloud starting to get closer from the W. Not looking very threatening though. Karl has said that something may develop when nocturnal colling kicks in but geez I hope not really. A few showers don't do any harm but storms are a risk of fires of storm damage.

I can make the cell out towards the west from here on sunset and was enormous...
Looking very ominous with thick AccAs forming showers everywhere and now surface convection developing as things cool slowly. It is like a sauna outside!!

Good to hear Mel!!!
That thundestorm in the SW going over Jakes head right now would have to be one of the strongest storms of the year in the state. It has swung the winds locally in the area to SSW but not much has hit the gauges - but 10-25mm in that alone is possible with winds to 120kmh. Hail a certainty with that level echo being achieved for the past 8 frames.

I may be a little to far north i think for a sound and light show here. Will be interesting to see what the front brings if anything this side of the range...

Does anyone think we will see anything here in North Central areas or will it mainly be in the south?

Absolutley amazing! Lightning (mostly CC and CA, but a couple of CG) every second, and still going. Very visible to the east of me atm. Winds suddenly picked up as it went over, I'd say it reached around 105 km/h, bloody heck I thought the house was going to blow down, and the thunder, sooooooo loud! Rainfall was heavy, but still managed 5mm from it, and guess what, local flash flooding and 5 cent piece hail!!! BEAUTY!!!!!
I cannot believe my luck, but there is a third thunderstorm approaching my region now!!!! WOW! Not as severe buts its chucking out some good lightning from what I can see and then there is the line of showers developing on the trough. Could get some more storms along that too!
