well it just ripped through here and I'm very protected, it was quite short lived though. That would have to create damage!!!

Just a photo of that squall line approaching the city. Dark and gloomy. Sorry for the photo quality.

I think that will be pretty widespread, we have had a lot of wind lately, these trees are going to be weak

We have been absolutely smashed with wind over the last 15 minutes. One particular gust brought a bit of debris with it

We had a massive gust which tripped our power. A wild old system, yet still dry.

Had a wind gust of 70kph, it picked a heavy chair off my deck and blew it into the garden as if it was made of balsa wood.

Looks as though the band is intensifying rain wise as it is tracking east.

Wind is Extreme to say the least. Lost power twice in the last 20 minutes. Lights still flicking a lot. Expect to see wide spread damage from this. Will the main winds continue as the rains go through, or should it simmer down once the bulk of the line passes?

Yeah, part of the neighbours fence is down too. Leasy, that's pretty scary. Was it a big tree?
Just looking at my records, to the same date last year I had 370.2mm while this year only 262mm, I thought last year was a shocker..

Yeah, it was a big tree, the top branch has come off (will post a photo tonight) and the branch itself is as big and thick as a small tree!!
It was one of those ghost gums, we were lucky it also just missed our air-con unit (temporary one - we had a major fire at work 4 weeks ago, and only my area has reoccupied), and our power flickered for a good 20 minutes - no power outages though.
Twas pretty bad out there!

Does anyone know exactly why we are getting extremely vigorous NW systems on a weekly basis? What is spurning this weather pattern?

We can't win guys seriously... We ask for the Westerly belt to be active and further North in Winter cos if its not most climate change people would say its not a normal Winter and the westerly belt is going to far south but when it is very active and further North this is the end result for many of our systems!! All wind and hardly any rain or little of it. Our climate bemuses me and perplexes me we just can't seem to win down here.
