Looks like a big mess on the radar, a bit like last night when it hit central areas

Re: Follow up rain-storms Nov 26-29th.
A LOT of Rain here today, plus some thunder and the odd bolt of lightning, its seems to be starting to weaken and head off but that will be a while I think.
Re: Follow up rain-storms Nov 26-29th.
nice to see it's lightning active shell, hopefully it wasn't a rogue bolt. Share the sparks!! After a good steady 20mins of light rain, it's starting to get heavier here now. Radar is looking good for me and for it to get heavier but it's been a tad off. Definitely getting heavier as I type

Re: Follow up rain-storms Nov 26-29th.
Couple of long rumbles here and one crack, wasn't expecting it. Raining steadily here, has been quite light rain for the last hour and a half on and off, but is now moderate.
Ah, ok, just easing off to light rain again now as I type.

Getting solid rain now, but just a bit east of the heavier patch. Box Hill/Burwood will be doing ok out of it.
Re: Follow up rain-storms Nov 26-29th.
Further showers pushing through here now. I am expecting this to tend to rain here later tonight. No further storms here but isolated thunderstorms remain a risk across much of western and central Victoria tonight.
That rain in the SW corner is virtually not moving. Mt. Gambier is up to 16mm.

Re: Follow up rain-storms Nov 26-29th.
woohoo, I get to tip some rain out of the $2.20 rain guage I bought from bunnings this afternoon
Also took a photo of something that I have never seen or heard of before - it was part of a rainbow embeded into an anticrepuscular ray. Simple but quite breathtaking. Will have a look at it later and will upload if the photo's give it justice.
Rog.

Re: Follow up rain-storms Nov 26-29th.
Just starting to get thundery showers down here in Sandy Point. Has been a really mild humid day with fair weather Cu (great for bouncing up and down on a one metre swell on a boogie board which I did for the afternoon ).
Certainly is looking good ATM with plenty of cells popping up in central areas with a few running right over the top of Ferny Creek
Few good falls starting to pop up on the hydro obs - 22mm at Port Fairy and 16 at Cape Nelson the best so far.
Should see lots of showers the next 24 hours with the focus slowly shifting east. Would expect some heavy falls developing in Gippsland tomorrow.

Re: Follow up rain-storms Nov 26-29th.
Im still thinking that the stuff near the border may go to the north of us during the night, im hoping im wrong as the orientation will still be NNW/SSE for a while yet here, so good falls for some places. And then tomorrow we should definitely see good stream showers and possibly even rain with a wrap around if we are lucky..Gippsland looks the goods tomorrow and Monday..

You can say that again. Rain band split up well in advance and I got lined up by the gap perfectly.
Hopefully a bit more develops behind it.

We seem to have been stuck in that Gap from last night onwards. 2mm here today which brings the total to 5mm (3mm overnight).

Good steady rain (with patchs of moderate rain) for the last 30 or so minutes (4.5mm). No Lightning or thunder to report.
I do have a video of Thursdays storm that hit Berwick that a mate took with his mobile after the worse had past. (15 secs / MP4 / 2mb) http://www.berwickweather.info/Videos/20091126.mp4 Hope it provides you with a short glimpse of what it was like.

Re: Follow up rain-storms Nov 26-29th.
29.9C here today, after the BOM advised that the state wouldnt see much above the mid 20's today. LAPS shows wrap-around cloud for us tomorrow (maybe even into Monday) with the low tracking SE'wards over our side of the state tonight/tomorrow. That would lift moods out this way big time.
That video link didnt work Mutley.
Sitting back now and (greedily for us out this way) hoping the low tracks along the N Vic border tonight.

The upper level low on thursday and another upper level cold pool today is causing this amazing amount of rain of certain parts of the state...

4.6mm today. 99.3mm for the month now.
Just dipped under 11C now and a bit of wind chill at times. Very sodden outside, plants and grass are going ballistic.
