It is getting intense... I have seen CG'siover the water, what amazes me is that their are so many boats still out on the water!

Re: Victoria: Thunderstorm Outbreak. October 28th-November 3rd 2009
Just came back from my small walk, the lightning over the CDB is mainly CC, but as it's so far south, it's quite faint. But frequent. I did see one massive CG towards the NW of the CBD, and some more CC to my SW, but I think I'm too far north for the action I'm afraid! Was good to see lightning in Australia again though, as much as I enjoyed the storms in Nice & Rome, it was better in Aus as I have time to enjoy it.

I can see a bit of a low cloud feature on the front flank of this approaching cell, lightning is highlighting it nicely. Havent seen it so frequent like this for a while! Love watching it.

Re: Victoria: Thunderstorm Outbreak. October 28th-November 3rd 2009
Yeah Matt it certainly is developing the westerly outflow well. WSW winds on the bay between 30-40 knots as it comes through but not much cooling.
8-10mm so far over the western suburbs so far. Seems to be diving southeast but more should develop over the inner northern suburbs.

Well i think i made a fairly good call this morning and all going to plan well...wind change dropping away and they are still firing with the cooling from the weak upper trough...and may yet go into the morning..

Lightning is just awesome as this cell slips close by to me here-probably just gonna cop the outer NE edge of the intense band. Wind has shifted to a cooler WNW out there now I reckon..

amazing how you are so close to here, and I feel let down! Mind you the lightning was awesome......saw some amazing bolts head stright down...and one that looked like it had 4 forks!!
Rain has stopped, sheet lighting still going on...wind has calmed....so i think i have seen the best of it from this vantage point.

Having fun watching events unfold down there, the live webcam at StKilda Marina was showing constant flangs there a few minutes ago: http://www.stkildaboatsales.com.au/webcam/
We've done OK up north in Kerang too, nice visuals and rain. Had about 7 mm today.
