I've been out all day but saw some amazing cloud formations while I was out and photographed them on my i-phone from Safeway Ferntree Gully and Devils Elbow looking out over Melbourne.
In Ferny Creek we are near the northern face overlooking Melbourne and it's been blowing a gale since last night. On my i-phone weather app it was saying gusts here up to 69kph. It's a wonder some trees haven't come down. It's always a worry as we are surrounded by huge ones.

Sunshine here again now, and once again, dark clouds all around the horizon, but blue sky above us. Really going cross eyed trying to figure out what is going on localy.

Yes getting very dark out there now..
Looks like it's about 15-20 minutes until the heavier stuff hits us in the CBD and surrounds now.
Where has the Melbourne Radar gone now!? It's been off for days and the airport backup sucks.
New BOM 4 day is out and still looks good over the next few days but subsiding a little earlier with the influence of that big highs arrival a fraction earlier than later.

Had a real blast here in Horsham about 2.30ish. Lots of branches off trees and thunder but only 7mm rain. Settled now to overcast and windy

Well guys, i don't know about you, but im totally confused. Afte one HUGE gust of wind and now died down a bit. Clouds are definitely threatening of rain here, but hard to tell whats going on as for some reason i cant seem to load any of the radars now. Had a few moments i was expecting the heavens to open in a huge way, but then the clouds have just moved on.

Amaro. As is often the case the high winds tend to not only dry things up but rip apart the weather.
Once things settle down a little I would expect things to get a little more organised and the rain will fall.
We will be in a very unstable pattern for the next 4 days at least so plenty of time yet.
I received a call from a work colleague that just drove through Castlemaine he reported it being absolutely wild out there with flangs galore and what appeared to be a nearby building direct hit.. Said it was absolutely amazing.
So it's happening and we will get our turn soon.

Still think a stormy band likely over the coming two hours with strong winds.
Should see 5-15mm in it.

Starting to get really dark out this way, wind still as bad as ever, not looking forward to the drive home. Still warm outside though, it is quite a spring-like day outside.
Can't wait for the main band to hit, and according to the Age it will be around 7pm which is great - i'll be home for that.

Small shower again in bayswater, but nothing more than dodge able drops. Hearing what sounds like thunder in the distance, but nothing showing up on the lightning tracker. Wind has picked back up now, and while the temp is quite pleasant still, the wind has a bit of a chill in it that was not there earlier. Very dark now, not sure if thats from the sun setting or just how thick the clouds are now. Radars still playing up on my network here, so hard to see whats going on elsewhere.

Just said on the news that a women died after a tree fell on her at Maryborough. It is just across the road from my wifes parents house. Found out about 30 mins ago but wanted to wait for the news for confirmation. Plenty of trees across roads around here.

Very gusty here and rain is moderate, getting heavier though. Been going for 15min or so and sounds like it is getting wild now!
Re: South East low sequence June 27-July 6 2009
