Re: Victoria: Thunderstorm Outbreak. October 28th-November 3rd 2009
I can confirm we had 13.4mm of rain from that thunderstorm. Not sure on the rainfall rate because I was too glued to the skies to watch the time... Still visible flashes of lightning to my NW, N, NE, E and SE. Expecting the new line of storms to approach from the W with lightning becoming visible there shortly. Get ready Karl, Andrew... there massive...

Small cell just developed over the top of us and moving over springvale, spitting out some very nice CG's. Wish I had a better view from here!

Thunder audible here from the South/SW. What lightning trackers do you all use? WZ or something else?

Nothing happening here yet but it is on the way I can feel it. Still 20 degrees and very humid. No flashes to the West but we are at the bottom of a hill so not the best views..

Good to hear Andrew.
This line is continuing right on schedule and is peaking over the western suburbs. New fresh cells towards Ballarat with further convection developing behind the line also.

Cape Otway had 10mm in about 15mins with 4mm in 4 minutes with 40kt N winds. So the storms are reflective of radar intensity for once

We got 4mm acumulated from light thundery periods throughout the avo acc. to family. Nothing since 5pm.
Trying to drizzle atm, interesting to see us in SE breezes, yet Melb under Northerlies.
Hope the band approaching Melb makes it this way (despite the breeze directions posted above).
