Cell just clearing here, great stuff! Certainly better than last night. Heavy rain with gutters overflowing at one stage, rolling thunder and plenty of lightning. Scared the daylights out of the dog! lol
Perfect view here in the study looking out the window towards the East. Flashes going non-stop as it makes it's way east.

Getting weak CC's every 10 or so seconds. The odd stronger flash occuring as well. Quite breezy at the moment, perfect on the deck.
Re: Warm, humid and thundery - Vic 28 Oct -> cup day
lightning is getting very spectacular now. To be under those flangs would be deafening. Massive CG fest getting closer as I type, booms are getting louder. Strobing has just begun, this is happening very quickly and cue the rain!!! Here we go.

Just got home too to enjoy it!
The house is lighting up every time a flash occurs! The rain has gotten heavier too!

4mm stopped us out over this way as per prev. post. Maybe, just maybe we can catch something in the morning?

Thanks for confirming my excitement! Poor dogs here are barking left right and centre as well! Not mine, I dont own one! But all the neighbours do!
Petros, last night we got close, but it hit more to the south, this was just to the north, but close enough that it felt like it was here!

Really is looking good now. Will fire up more as it enters the CBD and eastern burbs (I suspect that the urban heat island gives these complex extra omph at night).
Should see plenty of 10-20mm totals - maybe more
Not much point heading to bed...

A building was struck by lightning in Broadmeadows, nothing serious though. MFB in attendance.
Shame the cell isn't a little more south. A few rumbles and flashes out there where I am.

Rain starting to crank up a notch now. No flangs so far, just CC's observed (however I am in a very secluded area, no great views)
Edot: Rain has dropped off. Seems the main activity is a bit further north, around Warrandyte/Eltham.

I could not believe how many bolts were coming out of the back, someone mentioned above. 2 storms in 2 nights, Is this Melbourne?

Turned out to be a fizzer down here in the end, the lightning died off and we had less than a mm of rain. All over here now.
