Very warm indeed out there, certainly alot higher than the original 34 degree forecast. Currently 38.C here in Sunshine/Laverton.

38.3C in the city.... so a real sting in the tail of this event. Still have time to crack the 40C.
Lots of rain showing up on radar - looks great - but nothing showing up on the ground This should change in the next hour or two. Hoping to go home in the rain. Also a few strikes now showing up.

So gusty. Branches and leaves everywhere, hitting the roof and windows. So strange.

WTF!!!!
I just got caught right in the middle of that dust storm/change as it came through on my lunch break. Amazing stuff on the western ring road.

Crazy in the city. Thick dust, two bolts of lightening and then brown rain.
Expect frogs and fish will soon follow.
Dramatic increase in the storm echos but seems not to be dropping much rain (yet).

Yeah was in shock that it got up to 38c across much of the city today but now much cooler at 23c and cloudy.
Had quite a bit of Thunder here but its SO dry that much of the rain is not hitting the ground same right across Vic and SA, might have to wait till tonight even tomorrow for the decent rain to start, seems such a waste as there a fair amount of rain around on radar.
Interesting 48 hours ahead looking forward to it

I had just settled down with a drink to sip hoping for the show to begin after raking and sweeping dried up gum leaves in high 30 deg, very gusty wind had hubby running for the umbrella around 2.30, slight bit of rain and a nice temp drop.
Ps tanks still empty.
24.9. max 38.9 @ 12.25

HA!, just suddenly realised i had left the clothes horse outside where i had put it earlier for everything to dry in record time in the near 40 degree heat.....
surprised to see it still standing and all the clothes nice and dry!

How is that at all possible?
My other half told me that one of our huge pot plants (1 metre tall x about 50cm wide) got blown over! Unbelievable stuff. I hate to see my backyard when I get home.

Couple of decent branches down around here. Will post pics later if ihave time. If the cloud bases were about 3000ft lower, it would be raining quite nicely atm... atm the rain rate is about 25SPM (spots per minute)

Re: Victoria: Heatwave November 13th-20th 2009
wow what an afternoon! I haven't read anything else posted here but this is what I experienced.
At Tarneit, at work I was sitting in the staff room when I noticed the sky turning brown! I then ran to the window yelling dust storm!!!! People at work didn't batter an eyelid, knowing it was weatherboy again getting hysterical about a weather phenomenom. At Tarneit, it was real bad...could hardly see the other side of the road, dust blowing everywhere with the wind change, felt like being sand blasted at the beach. It was also tryiong to rain but at first nothing fell. Then as the air started to try and cool down we had a shower fall. But that just dropped mud....my car is now brown!
I get home and I have brooms and shovels from the back yard all wind blown and one of my poor garden frog gnomes has fallen and broken his face
Also, unofficially I registered 40.4 degrees here. I would guess though it was probably 39 rather than 40, but hey..I am gonna claim the first 40 for the summer!!
